This is a commissioned piece for a dear old friend and her husband. I was instructed to choose from multiple photos and draw without telling her which one I chose so she could watch this work unfold naturally via my social media posts. This presented a very unique and unusual opportunity for me to work without any validation or reassurance in my choices throughout this study. This piece was made using graphite pencils ranging from 5H-8B on Bristol Board. I throughly enjoyed drawing from the love shared between Sarah and Dan. The softness of their faces, the close stance between them and their genuine smiles show just how comfortable they are together. Focusing on love in art is always a heartwarming experience for me.
