Samantha Mortensen is an award winning Surrealism Artist who predominantly works with graphite on paper. She graduated in 2013

from Columbia College Chicago with a Bachelor of the Arts degree focusing on Fine Arts and Design.

Samantha typically creates pieces that focus on dreamscapes which draw awareness to subconscious thoughts and the range of emotions art invokes. Inspired by the study of Psychology, She hopes that through her work viewers may self-reflect on what emotions come up while studying an artwork and moreover, question why. Each spectator may have a different experience with an artwork but the variety of thoughts (all of which are relevant) become a part of the work's purpose.

Samantha’s body of work has been featured at Frankfort Arts Association, Gallery Seven, McCord Gallery and Cultural Center, Union Street Gallery, and Robert F. DeCaprio Gallery which has lead to many commissioned projects from private collectors.
